Once more Christmas is coming with the feasts of San Jose, known as the Festivities of Zapote, which are starting on December 25th and end on January 3rd.

The opening is at 3:00pm, where you can enjoy with your family and friends the “chinamos” (stands), amusement rides, fireworks, Costa Rican bull rides and other surprises related to these festivities.

For those who would like to try the roller coasters, pirate ship, bumper cars and “la tagada”, the prices range between ¢600 (around $1.25) and ¢1.500 (around $3).

The first Costa Rican style bull ride is scheduled for December 25th, however the entrances vary depending on the day and the time you participate in the show.

The organizers expect an average attendance of 100.000 people per day for these festivities.

Safety for everyone

This edition of the popular feasts is having a great security operative, where officers of the Public Force will be located in each entrance of the fairground, checking everyone who enters, in order to avoid any accidents.

Those who are going to the arena will receive a security policy, who must comply with several measures in order to obtain it.

Horse parade of San Jose

On December 26th, the National Day of Horsemen, will be held the Horse Parade of San Jose, one of the most longed activities by Costa Ricans and tourists during the feasts of San Jose. It will start in Paseo Colon and ends in the Plaza Gonzalez Viquez.

After four years of not being held, the beauty pageant Señorita San Jose will be part of the horse parade this year. The winner will be named on December 23rd in the National Auditorium, at the Children’s Museum.
