France will move to Costa Rica about 250 kg of books to fulfill its role as special guest in the XII International Book Fair that will be held in Costa Rica as from November 11th with a schedule of 9:00am to 8:00pm in the facilities of the Old Customs House.

Besides books, the French will bring a film series with adaptations of literature classics, like “Cyrano de Bergerac” of Jean-Paul Rappeneau and “Persepolis” of Marjane Satrapi.

The activity will have the participation of 40 Mexican, Guatemalan and Colombian writers, who are bringing their best work to literature fans.

The agenda includes music inspired in the known novel “The Little Prince”, which will be interpreted by the group Baobab, as well as storytellers, workshops and small conferences.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, where different activities will take place for the whole family, focused on the importance of reading.

In Costa Rica this event is qualified as an excellent business opportunity for the local and international market.

The edition of 2010 had a record attendance of 28.000 people and the goal for this year is to attract 30.000 readers.

The entrance costs ¢1.500 (around $3), underage children have free entrance and senior citizens only pay ¢500 (around $1).
