Parque del Lago and San Jose celebrate once more Costa Rica’s culture with a unique event; 70 fiberglass pigeons intervened by Costa Rican artists that liven up an outdoors exhibit that you can enjoy until March 25th, 2012.

The Peace Parade promotes local talent from artists and students, who were in charge of painting the pigeons. Through this art exhibit the audience will receive several important messages, like world peace, the importance of family and recycling and the protection of the environment.

The artistic pigeons are 2 meters tall and are easily seen for their multiple colors. They are placed in 20 different spots, such as La Sabana, Paseo Colon, Avenida Central (Central Avenue), parks, squares and buildings of San Jose.

Parque del Lago is surrounded by this wonderful art sample that both locals and tourists admire as they do their Christmas shopping or just walk through San Jose. Live the work of Costa Rican artists and live the culture of our country from our hotel.

You can take a few minutes of your time to appreciate them in case you go to the Tope (Horse Parade) of San Jose 2011, since they’re on your way.

The Peace Parade is promoted by the Township of San Jose and the company Vallas y Gigantografias.
